Attention, pop and soap opera fans: 3deep is back.
The pop trio made up of Canadian musician CJ, "The Young & The Restless" star Joshua Morrow, and "Third Watch" and former "Y & R" star Eddie Cibrian , have just released their second album in Canada, titled "Can’t Get Over You".
Sprawling in their Toronto hotel room on a promotional visit to the city, a sleepy CJ and Joshua think they've taken a big step with their latest musical effort.
"It turned out really good," says Joshua. "Much better than our last album, and as artists that’s all you can expect, that you grow with each album."
The trio’s last album, "Yes yes yes…no no no", was a success in Canada, but due to busy TV schedules, the group was unable to pump the release overseas or in the U.S., something they’re determined to accomplish with "Can’t Get Over You".
"We’ll start shows probably in June and then continue," says CJ. "As long as people will have us, we’ll be there."
Judging by the activity on their official website (www.3deep.com), 3 Deep fans all over the world are willing to have Joshua, Eddie and CJ in their city. Both singers say they love going on their official website to see what fans are chatting about, and often answer feedback online. The most common ?
"When we’ll be in their city," says CJ.
Having two members making their living as TV actors can make finding rehearsal time hard to come by, but Joshua says that so far, the group has been able to make it work.
"We just have to fit in the time when we can," says Joshua. "Take little trips here on the weekends. Get together and rehearse. It just comes down to scheduling and making it happen."
But which comes first for the daytime star?
"Acting is my career," he explains. "This is almost my hobby. I’m very serious about it and work really hard at it, but I’ll be an actor for the rest of my life. Who knows how long this will last. But I put in as much energy and focus as I do my acting job."
Meanwhile, CJ’s non-3deep-related activities include "sleeping", playing with his dogs and working with other artists.
Neither of them knows for sure how long 3deep will be able to juggle the separate careers of each of the group members, but for now, they’re loving their fans and their music.
"When you start, you just hope that people like you, and we did so well that we’re going to do it again", says CJ. "And if this [album] does well, maybe we’ll do it again".
