Five's J talks about Mel C

Five's J isn't dating Sporty Spice for free publicity.

The pop singer fought back at rumours that his relationship with seeing Mel C is a publicity stunt.

"These stories really p*** me off. We've been seeing each other for three months and it is completely real," J told the London Sun. "Our relationship is not a PR stunt. I would never do anything like that, what's the point? Mel C is my girlfriend.

"I can tell you she stayed round at my flat last night, and that wasn't a publicity stunt. We had something to eat and watched TV for most of the night.

J went on to explain that the two have a lot in common and enjoy spending time together.

Their romance started in March after the Brit Awards, where the Spice Girls were honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award and Five won Best Pop Act.

"We ended up having a chat and drank more and more," J said about the night the two started dating. "By the end of the night we were both a bit drunk, to say the least. We kissed and that was that."

J said that the two see each other when they have time but that their relationship isn't very intense yet.

"We're just enjoying ourselves. We've only been dating for three months, so it's all very early days."

According to the pop star, the reason he and Mel are accused of staging their romance for publicity is because they're rarely seen out in public together.

"People keep saying it's a scam because we were never photographed together. The reason was because we never went out. We'd rather stay in than go out all the time. "
