5ive deny cannabis quotes
The boys of 5ive continue to back away from their cannabis comments.
5ive's Scott is now claiming the group never said that cannabis should be legalized, dotmusic reports.
The cannabis controversy began when the UK magazine "Sky" alleged that 5ive's Ritchie and J said they thought people who smoked marijuana were less likely to be violent then heavy drinkers and that if people believe in God, how can they think something that grows naturally should be illegal?
After those comments, 5ive's music was banned from "The Bay," a U.K. radio station, and the group chastised for being "irresponsible".
Now Scott claims J and Ritchie didn't even make the controversial comments.
"We'd never turn round and say we think it should be legalized," he said. "We're not that stupid! Because we're in a band and we've been successful, people want to drag us down, and it's not going to work!"
