98 Degrees to release Christmas disc

By STEPHANIE McGRATH -- AllPop

Teen pop sensation 98* will help their fans get into the Christmas spirit with a new album.

Entitled This Christmas, the album, being released by Universal Music, is due in stores on October 19th. The album's first single, "This Gift," is scheduled for radio play on October 28th. Along with "The Gift", the Christmas album will include a variety of classic Christmas carols such as "I'll Be Home For Chirstmas" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen".

Christmas isn't the only thing on the group's mind. 98*, made up of Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons, have been touring almost non-stop since April. They are currently on the second leg of their "Heat It Up" tour and they're headlining on the Nickelodeon "All That" tour.

Their current single "I Do (Cherish You)," is at #10 on the BDS Airplay chart this week. Their album, '98* And Rising', is also charting, sitting comfortably within the Soundscan top 100 Albums. A home video was recently released and an authorized book entitled "98*, The Official Book" should hit shelves soon.

In other 98* news, the band recently finished recording a song with Mariah Carey called "Thank God I Found You". The song will be featured on Carey's upcoming album released by Sony and coming out in November.
