Is Christina after Prince William?

The UK tabloids want Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears to start fighting.

Last year, reports were flying that Britney was e-mailing, and planning to visit, Prince William.

Now, some tabloids are claiming that Christina wants the Prince all to herself, Dotmusic reports. The rumour is that Christina sent Prince William her home phone number and a life-sized picture of herself.

"Christina has heard that Britney is trying to get close to Prince William," a friend of Christina's said in the Dotmusic story. "The girls have been friends for years. Christina has now focused her attention on the Prince and hopes to put him off Britney for good."

No one knows how much truth there is to the current Britney vs. Christina rumour. As far as Christina goes, it seems as though the blond "Genie" doesn't plan to fight with Britney any time soon.

"I know the press and what-not have always wanted to make this sort of rivalry between Britney and I. But come on -- we are very different artists," Christina told Reuters earlier this month. "People will see more and more how different we are, so maybe that will stop this idea that we're competing with each other."

As far as the whispers that link Britney and the Prince, an article in February's issue of "People Magazine" explained that representatives for the Prince are denying that the two even exchange e-mail.

However, Britney's representatives claim that they do occasionally e-mail one another. Britney wouldn't say anything on the topic except, "He's very cute and so sweet. But people blow things out of proportion."
