Christina is snubbed and honoured

Christina Aguilera is counting on help from Destiny's Child for her first headlining tour.

The Grammy winning pop singer launches her tour this summer and Destiny's Child will be her opening act, MTV reports.

"I'm really a huge fan of Destiny's Child," Christina told MTV. "'The Writing's On The Wall' was actually one of my favourite records. I listened to all the time on tour and when I was travelling this year. Beyonce and the other girls are such amazing vocalists, and I have a lot of respect for vocalists. Having them part of my tour is really cool, and gives me a real R&B side as well."

In more Christina news, the "Genie In A Bottle" star, the Backstreet Boys and Ricky Martin are all winners at the Eighth Annual World Music Awards, Dotmusic reports.

The awards ceremony will be held on May 10 in Monte Carlo and are scheduled for broadcast on May 19.

The Annual World Music Awards are given out to the top-selling pop, R & B, and dance artists, as well as the best national artists in 13 countries.

On the negative side of the Christina news, there's a rumour that she was snubbed on the set of "Saturday Night Live" after she lip-synched her way through two songs.

TV critic Roger Friedman reportedly said it was the first time he could remember a musical act miming a performance, which didn't impress the show's cast.

"When the show came back live for the end credits to roll, instead of embracing her the cast seemed to treat her like a leper," he said.
