Christina announces tour dates

Christina Aguilera has officially announced her summer tour.

The Grammy-winning pop star is headlining a 37-city tour that is set to kick off on July 31 in Kansas City, Live Daily reports.

Destiny's Child will open for Christina and tickets for the shows go on sale on May 6.

Christina's tour includes 11 amphitheatre dates and several performances at fairs and Canadian arenas.

Christina and her tour sponsors, Sears and Levi's, are planning to launch a new initiative with Do Something, a charity that aims to get young people to "take action to make the world a better place," RCA Records, Christina's label said Friday.

The project, titled "Come on Over and Do Something," is giving away 50 Sears and Levi's Youth Empowerment Grants of $500 to support young people's community service projects. Grant winners will also get tickets to a Christina concert and a chance to meet her backstage before the show.
