Pop diva Christina Aguilera is expected to serenade winter Olympians at the athletic competitions in Salt Lake City.
Music producer David Foster told Entertainment Weekly that he hopes the Grammy-winning pop star will sing the official Olympic anthem at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic games.
Foster went on to say that he's already met with Christina's manager, Irving Azoff, to discuss Christina's participation.
"She's one of the few young singers who could handle the music," Foster told EW. "Those anthems really require a powerful voice."
So far, nothing has been confirmed although Christina's manager is said to be interested in the idea of the young singer taking the Olympic stage.
The opening ceremonies will kick off on February 8, 2002 and is expected to be viewed by almost 3 billion people.
Past music divas who have sung for the Olympic ceremonies include Gloria Estefan, Whitney Houston and Olivia Newton-John.
