Backstreet sweeps World Music Awards
*Nsync has been getting most of the boy-band attention lately but The Backstreet Boys aren't disappearing yet.
The original five-member pop group swept the World Music Awards on Wednesday, AllStar reports.
The awards ceremony was held in Monaco and although the winners were announced several weeks ago, the categories in which the artists won weren't announced until Wednesday.
Howie, Brian, A.J., Nick and Kevin picked up four awards, including Best Selling Pop Group, while Mariah Carey won Best Selling R & B Artist and Best Selling Female Pop Artist of the Millennium.
Michael Jackson won Best Selling Male Pop Artist of the Millennium.
Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray and Elle McPherson hosted the awards, which boasted performances by Lou Bega, Goo Goo Dolls, Eiffel 65, Jamiroquai, Mya and Femi Kuti.
ABC will air the awards show on May 29.
