The Backstreet Boys won't be on Lionel Richie's new album.
Although Nick, Brian, Kevin, Howie and A.J. did record "Cinderella" with the '80s singer, their voices won't be heard when the album is released on Feb. 6, Wall Of Sound reports.
Reports say that the boys were removed from the single in case "Cinderella" ended up competing with a single from Backstreet's "Black & Blue".
Richie said that he's confident fans will eventually hear the version with Backstreet.
"I said, 'OK, we'll use it for later on, when I do a TV special or something,'"he told Wall Of Sound. "I'm not worried. I think as time goes on, you will hear this record, with Backstreet on it, before it's all over. It's just a matter of how do we politically work it out. But the good news that happened from that record is my 6-year-old son came to me and said, 'Dad, you're famous.' I said, 'Why would you say that?' and he said, 'You know the Backstreet Boys'."
