Backstreet's Brian forms label with wife

Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell and his wife Leighanne are working on forming an entertainment empire.

Brian and Leighanne just unveiled their very own music label and production company titled Brileigh Prods., according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The couple plans to concentrate on the music label first, by signing two to three musical acts during the first year. They'll then produce film and TV projects by the end of next year. Leighanne will act as president of Brileigh, which will be part of the Insight Entertainment Group in L.A. There will also be a Brileigh office in the Littrell's hometown of Atlanta.

But Brian and Leighanne won't be working alone. They'll hire three or four people to help with the operation while Brian tours with Backstreet and Leighanne, an aspiring actress, works on films.

The soundtrack to the indie movie "Olive Juice" will be Brileigh Prods. first project. It will arrive in stores in October.

Leighanne stars in "Olive Juice" and also acted as co-producer for the film. The movie is scheduled to be released on Oct. 9 through Blockbuster.

Fans of Backstreet may want to grab the soundtrack, which was co-produced by the Littrells and features music by Backstreet. The album's title track was written by Brian with artist J. Michael Davis, who sings the song on the album.

"I've always been interested writing songs; I've written several of the Backstreet Boys' songs and co-write a lot of them," Brian told The Reporter. "When you're dealing with soundtracks, it's really fun for me to create music based on a feeling in a movie."

Meanwhile, Brian will join the rest of Backstreet as the group resumes their tour on Friday (Aug. 24) in Milwaukee.

In more Backstreet news, group member Howie Dorough plans to launch the second annual Lupus Cruise once Backstreet has finished their tour, MTV reports.

Howie and some of his fans will hop on a cruise to the Caribbean to benefit his charity, the Dorough Lupus Foundation.

The cruise leaves Miami on Dec. 15. It will stop at Grand Cayman Island, Ocho Rios, Jamaica and end up in Cozumel, Mexico a week later.

During the cruise, Howie and other artists will perform a private concert, and the Backstreet Boys as a whole will take part in a meet and greet and celebrity auction.

Fans who just have to see Howie and support his charity can pay $799 to $2,350 for tickets and visit www.cruisewithhowied.com for details. The first deposit for the trip is due on Monday (Aug. 27).

Last year, the cruise raised more than $36,000 for the charity, which was set up in memory of Howie's late sister, Caroline Dorough Cochran, who died from lupus in 1998.
