A.J. is welcomed back onstage

A.J. is back and his fans are welcoming him with hysterical screams at the Backstreet Boys' tour stops.

On Friday A.J. was back from his stint in rehab and joined the rest of Backstreet onstage in Milwaukee for the group's first show in almost two months, MTV reports.

During the show, Backstreet spoke with the audience and thanked their fans for being patient as A.J. delayed the tour as he underwent treatment for alcohol abuse and depression.

"As you guys know, we took a little break. If it wasn't for you guys, we wouldn't be here tonight," said Backstreet's Brian. "But the Backstreet Boys aren't the Backstreet Boys without all five of us."

When it was A.J.'s turn to talk to the crowd, the tattooed pop star almost started to cry as he thanked Backstreet fans for supporting him.

"I just wanted to say I wish I could go out and hug each and every one of you," said A.J. "Thank you for letting me go through what I needed to go through to get myself better. I'm celebrating 51 days sober today."
