You probably aren't too worried about your skin right now, aside from the odd pimple on your nose or chin but it's a good idea to start taking care of it as soon as you can.

Leanne Russel, a skin care advisor for the Body Shop, has a few tips for young teens like you who long for blemish free skin.

First of all, drink lots of water. Leanne recommends at least eight glasses a day and more if you can.

Also, make sure your skin is clean. There are lots of products out there with many different names - cleansers, toners and moisturizers. Which is which?

  • "A cleanser is used to cleanse the skin and to take away everything you've been facing during the day - dirt, grim," explains Leanne. "Toner gets the excess, what's left and freshens the skin and tightens up the pores."

Moisturizers are quite self-explanatory. It's a good idea to use moisturizer after you've properly washed your face and before you put on your make-up so your skin is smooth and nourished.

Leanne came to visit AllPop with her arms full of different variations of skin care products. She put together a quick little package of items that would help teens have fresh, glowing skin.

A two-in-one cleanser/toner or a nice face wash you can splash on before school is a good idea. Leanne recommends her company's Skin Defensives face wash ($18) that cleans your skin and also uses natural ingredients to protect it from pollution and cigarette smoke. A moisturizing cream is also important. You could try the Body Shop's Vitamin C moisturizer for $25.

  • Finally, when your skin is clean and and glistening, it's time for the really fun stuff - make-up.

Leanne says that the trend for make-up now is to look natural and pretty.

"Its healthier, the pallette is all very soft and very pastel," she says.

According to Leanne, stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker are going to the pastel world with light colour on the lips and shimmery eyes and cheeks.

A friend of AllPop's, Judith Pickett, sat in the make-up chair as Leanne worked on her with a variety of pretty products.

Leanne used Body Shop Shimmer Dust ($16) on Judith's cheekbones for a glowing look and put a touch of colour on her lips with a lilac Lip Treat ($12) and then lavender Lip Quench ($18) that can be applied to the lips with a tiny brush. She also dusted lilac/pink Duo Sparticles ($12) over Judith's eyelids. The Sparticles are tiny eyeshadow beads.

Here's a photo of Judith wearing the make-up.

  • On a tight budget? Then Leanne says two of the most important products are either the lip gloss called Lip Mist ($11) that come in pink, lavender, platinum and fawn or a lip quench and a container of Shimmer Dust in grey or pink.

"It's all about playing with it and you can come up with your own look," says Leanne about make-up.
