My cousin Rae-Anne was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF) ten years ago. Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs and the digestive system. Many Canadians, including myself, have been active in the fight against this incurable disease since the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was founded in 1940.
In addition to helping with all the fundraising my family was doing in my hometown, I decided to start a cystic fibrosis web site in 1998. As a result, "The HMH - Fans With Cystic Fibrosis" was born. It's a page for Hanson fans with CF dedicated to my cousin Rae and other children living with this disease. One year later, I decided to contact Hanson's manager about a silent auction my family was holding.
The band generously donated an autographed magazine to our cause. The magazine went for $250 USD. The next year, Hanson donated an autographed copy of their latest album, "This Time Around". The raffle raised $370 CND. This year, we've been given another autographed magazine and it will be raffled off on September 8, 2001 in Napierville, Qc, Canada (near Montréal) during a cystic fibrosis carwash.
There will be other Hanson fans and plenty of Hanson music. We'll also be giving away "This Time Around" and "If Only" singles to some of the customers. Anyone may join us at the carwash. If you cannot attend, you may still purchase raffle tickets. All you need to do is check out the official raffle and carwash site:
