*Nsync develops a twang
*Nsync is going country.
The Orlando boy band just released their new single, a ballad titled "This I Promise You", and the group's Lance Bass is hoping the group can team up with a female country star to record a new version of the song, launch.com reports.
"We just released a ballad, 'This I Promise You,' to every market except country," Lance said. "I mean, we did Spanish, everything. I was talking to Clive Calder the other day and I was like, 'Why don't we do a country version, 'cause it's such a country song?,' so we are going to get together with a well-known artist and probably collaborate this year."
There's no word yet on when the new version would be released to radio.
The last time the group collaborated with a country act, they produced "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You" with Alabama.
The song was in the top five on the country charts in 1999.
Next up for *Nsync is a "Good Morning America" appearance on Monday, Oct. 9 when they'll perform both "This I Promise You" and "It's Gonna Be Me".
