*Nsync tops richest musicians list

*NSync are sinking in an ocean of cash estimated to be worth $267 million, making them last year's biggest music industry earners, according to a survey by VH1 and Money Magazine.

The survey found the quintet earned the Canadian cash equivalent of $408 million in album sales and tour revenues last year, landing them at the top of the list of the richest musicians. The boy-band earned US$191 million in CD sales and topped that up with US$76 million from touring.

The combined incomes of Dr. Dre and Eminem, who record and tour together, landed them second on the list, with US$249.9 million (about $382 million in Canadian dollars).

Other top earners include:
  • Britney Spears: US$162 million in CD sales, US$40 million in touring
  • Singing couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw: combined CD sales of more than US$120 million, touring income of over $48 million
  • Backstreet Boys: US$122.8 million in CD sales, $25.8 million in touring revenue.
  • Santana: US$119 million CD sales, $26 million touring

    The list was rounded out by, in order: Creed, Dixie Chicks, Tina Turner, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews Band, Sting, Kiss, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ricky Martin, Destiny's Child, Sisqo, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, and Jimmy Buffett.
