*Nsync's enormous PopOdyssey tour launched in Jacksonville Florida on Wednesday night, and it sounds as though the flashy show was a hit with their fans.
MTV reports that the concert started off with a video history of the group. That was followed by the five *Nsync-ers coming out of capsules in the middle of the arena. J.C., Joey, Chris, Justin and Lance then marched up to the stage, which came complete with video screens, elevators and conveyor belts.
The group opened the show with "Pop", the debut single from their upcoming album "Celebrity" (out July 24).
The next song on *Nsync's set list was "Tearin' Up My Heart," one of their early hits, followed by "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You".
"Tonight is very special for us," *Nsync's Lance told the crowd, "because you're going to get to hear most of our upcoming album, 'Celebrity', before anyone else in the world."
Other special features during the show included multiple costume changes, mechanical bulls, fireworks, smoke, lasers, film parodies on the video screens, and flying *Nsync-ers (suspended by wires).
One interesting point noted by MTV, was that Justin seems to have become the leader of *Nsync. Although he's always been the most popular, in the past the boy band has tried to give equal parts and spotlight time to each of the five members.
During this show however, Justin was reportedly front and centre during most of the songs and also sang all the verses for "Pop".
Canadian fans will have to wait until *Nsync's stop in Toronto on June 19 to see if they approve of the new "Celebrity" songs.
