The four other members of NSYNC react to the news that two deejays were fired after a false report about bandmate Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears:
LANCE BASS: "Oh, wow. I think that's a good thing. The sad thing is it really upsets people. 'Cause I know my parents heard it and they think it's true 'cause they see it on CNN. And so they're freaking out. (Justin's) parents are freaking out because they haven't talked to him today. To hear it on CNN that your kid is dead, that's bad. That like takes years off your life. It's stupid and not funny."
JC CHASEZ: "Really? I understand why they should be reprimanded. They're straight out lying to people and that's not cool to mislead people. But if it was part of a joke or something I would understand it. Then it shouldn't be a big deal. But if he said it as news, then he should definitely be reprimanded."
JOEY FATONE: "Wow. I heard about that (the hoax) but I didn't know they got fired. There's rumours that go around, but even to say that on live radio is not the brightest thing to do because a lot of kids look up to (Justin and Britney). Their hearts will probably be broken. I feel bad for them, they got fired. But, you know, don't say that stuff on the radio. You can make a joke, make fun of us, call us idiots, or I have a big nose and big feet, but you don't say that somebody's in a coma or somebody passed away, that's something you don't really joke about it."
CHRIS KIRKPATRICK: "I think it went a little bit too far, because I had friends that were really concerned. And that's some stuff you just don't joke about. Death is permanent. That's something you can't say, 'Whoops. We were just kidding.' Not to say people can't have their fun ... and freedom of speech and all that stuff. But firing them for it? That might be a bit extreme."
