Instead of being on stage in front of thousands of screaming fans, *Nsync's Joey Fatone spent the weekend in the hospital.
Joey missed *Nsync's San Antonio, Texas, tour date because he was suffering from pneumonia. The pop star was released from the hospital on Monday afternoon, sonicnet.com reports.
Before Sunday's show kicked-off, Johnny Wright, *Nsync's manager, stepped on stage to tell the audience that Joey wouldn't be able to make the concert. Later in the evening, group member Chris Kirkpatrick called Joey while he was still on the stage and held the cell phone up in the air so fans could scream "We love you, Joey!".
Joey checked into the hospital on Saturday when his bronchitis turned into pneumonia. Benny Tarauntini, *Nsync's tour spokesperson, said that Joey would join J.C., Justin, Chris and Lance for tonight's (Tuesday, Aug. 7) show in Birmingham, Alabama.
