'Popstars II' auditions announced

Warm up your vocal cords, popstar-wannabes. Auditions for the second instalment of the Canadian version of "Popstars" are coming to a town near you.

"Popstars: Boy Meets Girl" will be a 13-episode, half-hour series on Global TV that will document the creation of a boy-and-girl vocal group from auditions through to the recording process.

Aspiring stars who are 18 years or older (19 in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and British Columbia) can audition on the following dates:

"Popstars is becoming an annual television event that two million Canadians look forward to, and we hope to build every year," said Michael Geddes, president of Lone Eagle Entertainment which produces the show. "We are excited that we will be launching Canada's first guy/girl supergroup."

Last year, thousands of female hopefuls auditioned for the first series of "Popstars", which gave birth to the Canadian pop act Sugar Jones.
