I think that popstars will be continuing for 3 more episodes. they said on the news a while ago that they extended the season. so, looks like you have 3 more write-ups to do! but i love reading them, they're so funny! great job! If you want, please have a look at my site: http://clik.to/sugarjones a new layout will be coming soon for it, i'm attempting to make it with html codes. Thanks! please sign the guestbook!

Hey, I'm from Newfoundland and just thought I'd let you know that our local TV listings say that there will be a new episode next week, and summarizes it by saying that La Toya is invited to do vocal work on the album.
Hi my name is Chris Kitchen, and I just wanted to say that I think you girls have an extremely broad appeal. I'm a 31yr old guy and I totally love you guys. I tune into the Popstars show on TV every Sunday and can't wait to see what happens next. All the best.... A believer!
Interesting how questions other than "what's your middle names" and "did you get a warm welcome in London lastnight" and "What is your favourite midnight snack" don't get asked. Are the administrators of this chat not prepared to allow controversial questions to be posed to the group? Is journalism not about informing the people about the whole story, from an objective point of view (hence entertaining a broader selection of questions than what was asked during the chat)? What is your screening process for questions being asked? Obviously questions which contain profain material must be censored, but those which may question the acutal intergrity of Sugar Jones (or any other chat participant) be cut? As a new musical group in the public eye, should they not answer such questions to uphold what they believe and stand for instead of having them brushed off by the chat editors? One must question whether this "chat" session was to actually inform the public on the band, and not mearly hype the band's popularity/canoe.ca site hits. Dave Cull
From the reviews and praises that the've have...i think its all gonna get to Sahara, mirella, andrea, maiko, and julie's head, just like the spice girls..yes they have talent..but no..they auditioned for "POPSTARS"...thats gonna leave a big cross on thier names..they wont get any respect from me!!.. talk about orignal..having thier own style..as soon as they hit the states..THEIR GONNA FORGET ABOUT CANADA!!
I'll make it short and sweet: how can they call their talent search "cross-Canada" when they don't go east of Montreal? we Atlantic Canadians deserve a chance as much as the rest of the country!!!!!!! Jane, Halifax, NS
Someone should tell these girls they have become divas way to quick. I enjoy the show and I think they have talent, but when I see these five newbies dictating to veterans of the music world how the album should be put together, it's quite silly. The show is called Popstars. Your shocked the record company wants you to make pop songs ????? Do as the label tells you..if you hit it big, then you will be given the freedom to do things your way. Until then..shut -up and learn. I was a big fan of this show, but the girls know-it-all attitude just after being discovered really has turned me off. They went from likable girl-next-door girls, everyone could root for, to pretentious snobs who want things done their way, and forgot who brought them here ( and forgot the other girls who weren't picked and would kill to be in their place). Someone please bring them down to earth. TC in Toronto.
My name is Esther, I was the girl who was "everywhere" as Julie said lol I was wearing the POP STAR shirt:) I just wanted to say thank you guys SO much for everything last nite I loved your music, and I loved meeting you thank you for all the nice things you said to me you're all my inspiration&rolemodels and I hope I'll someday be just like you guys!! I sang last nite for all the girls in the line waiting to get the pics done with you they were all like you HAVE TO sing for SJ i was like nooooo way!!!!! lol i'm not THAT confident hehe... Hi, I'm Kristin Archer from Hamilton, Ontario. I'm in the chat right now with Sugar Jones and it's fantastic! Could you please give them my fan site address? It's http://www.geocities.com/sugar_jones_rules/home.html please tell them that IT'S NOT FINISHED YET! that's why there isn't much on it, but I'd like them to see it so far!!!! thanks soooooooo much! c-ya, .·:kristi:·.
As silly and syrupy as the show is, i watch it more for its ability to allow me to live vicariously a dream that i think many of us share, to be discovered and groomed into a superstar. we all have dreams of being rich and famous and live the life of people like celine dion or shania twain. i say good for those girls to have beat out thousands of other hopefuls and i will keep watching and i`ll probably buy the first cd more for principle than anything else, although they do sound pretty good. what i would really like to know is how is that girl doing that was picked out as a solo artist a couple of weeks ago? lise
I think "Popstars" is an awesome show. "Popstars" and "Making the Band" both are great reality shows they show use how it is like for a group to survive and you don't see that with groups like *N'SYNC, and BSB are fake thats probably not even their real voices! O-Town(Making the Band) and Sugar Jones(Popstars) are really for real great singers! You can see it!!! And I agree with Sahara you should live the moment...
Regarding the name SugarJones, I think that it's really, REALLY terrible. Moreover, confusing, since there is (maybe was) a Sugar Jones group in Texas. Do the producers know about this? They should. http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/28/sugar_jones.html Otherwise, I think that the group shows promising things for Canadian pop music and it has been great fun to watch the 'making of the band' (Ooops, sorry, 'nother show) ... anyway, it certainly attracks 12 year old girls (and their mom's, Bop bop bob do ahhhhhh) J. Johnson
I really enjoyed watching the show.I'm so glad it was a Canadian idea. Best wish, good luck to the VERY talentd ladies.I' m a granny who loves the young music of today.
Hey I think the show is awseome! My firend Merilla and amber both auditioned and got in! Unfortunatley Amber didn't make it but Merilla did and I'm proud of both of them! I will always support them all the way! Sharon Kan
I think the popstars concept would have worked even better if the audience played a part in voting for the girls in the band. As it turned out, most of the girls that were chosen for the band would not have been my picks, and didn't stand out with that "star quality" once we saw them on the screen. Whatever magic the judges thought they saw during the boot camp, we didn't see it from our point of view in our living rooms. All the girls that stood out for me were cut. I will admit you had my attention for the TV ratings, but I can't imagine purchasing their CD since I'm not interested in the remaining members. By the way, would it kill you people to put a band together that played instruments, instead of just dancing?

About giving the girls media training so they don't say lame stuff:

No way!!! I hope they don't! We'll lose the whole "reality television" aspect of the show if they get media training! People need to see that without training, these "popstars" sound as lame as the average person (if not worse). On top of that, without media training, these popstars just might be a little more [gasp] honest about their experience!

I hope you see the humour in the previous paragraph ;) Keep it up and I'll be reading next week!

Episode 1 feedback:

I thought they could've started doing promos for the show earlier [note sarcastic tone].

They started around July of last year - Maybe they should've started in 1990. Even with all the "Popstars - coming February 5th" commercials, which drove me crazy, I still ended up missing the show.

Well...even though I find this show of poor quality, I AM addicted to this "Reality TV" and will watch the show just to find out who makes it and who doesn't!

I really think the Canadians are just jumping on the "Reality TV bandwagon".

My heart goes out to the crushed dreams of the poor girls who don't make it.

As a big soulDecision fan, I must admit I am now sick of Ooh Its Kinda Crazy!!!!!!!. These are actually Canadian girls? Yikes, I thought EVERYBODY knew the words to soulDecision's songs!!!!!!!

I really can't see myself being a fan of this girl group, but who knows?
