S Club 7 follow Spice footsteps
S Club 7, the UK pop band created by Spice Girls ex-manager Simon Fuller, is following in the footsteps of Baby, Sporty, Scary, Ginger and Posh.
The group will soon be seen on CD players, pencil cases and mobile phones in a global licensing deal with PMS International, PA news reports.
The contract means millions of dollars for the seven group members and is similar to the deal the same company made with the Spice Girls.
But lending their names and images to products isn't the only Spice-like move Fuller plans for the group.
He also said he wants group members Rachel, Bradley, Tina, Jon, Hannah, Paul and Jo, to star in a movie -- not unlike his film venture with the Spice Girls in "Spiceworld".
S Club 7 have enjoyed chart-toppers in the UK. They star in their own TV show, which airs in 92 countries and was the number one children's show on BBC1 last year.
"This is an entertainment brand for the future with a long life potential," said Paul Beverley, PMS director. "The TV series, rather than anything else, is the driving force behind the marketing, and the hit records are a welcome bonus."
S Club 7 is also making an impact in North America with the song "S Club Party" climbing the MuchMusic video charts in Canada.
