S Club hit #1
S Club 7 should be planning an enormous S Club party to celebrate the success of their latest album.
The seven pop and TV stars, who hail from the U.K., shot straight to the number one slot on the U.K. album charts, Sky News reports.
"7", the group's second album, was snatched up by S Club fans who have been following Rachel, Paul, John, Tina, Jo and Hannah's beach exploits on the TV show and dancing to their songs.
"The millennium has completely overwhelmed us. We have had a fantastic year, the support from our fans has been unbelievable - we can't thank them enough," Paul told Sky News. "When you're up against huge acts like Whitney Houston, Britney Spears and Bon Jovi, getting to number one feels even more special."
Having the number one album in the U.K. is only one of the accomplishments the group can boast about. Their first single, "Bring It All Back", went to number one in the U.K., their new show, "LA 7", is the best rated kids show on British TV, they won best newcomers at the Brit Awards in March, and their first series, "Miami 7", was sold to 104 countries.
