S Club boys apologise again

The members of the hit U.K. pop group and TV show S Club 7 apologized to their fans on a national television show Thursday.

Three of the group members -- Bradley McIntosh, Paul Cattermole and Jon Lee -- received a stern "caution" from the U.K. police on Tuesday after marijuana was found on them in London.

They appeared on a U.K. station with the female members (who weren't involved in the legal trouble) to apologize to their young fans, the BBC reports.

"I hope the success that we've enjoyed we continue to keep having, and I hope that people understand," Paul said. "People can support us in times like this."

On Wednesday night the group appeared on MTV in the U.K. where they made an informal apology -- and were harassed over the phone by Dominic Mohan, an entertainment gossip writer for The London Sun.

S Club also released a statement Wednesday in which they called themselves "stupid" and apologized again for their arrest.

"The band are gutted by this," said their spokesman. "They rate their fans very highly ,and they know that they have let a lot of people down. Now they're learning their lesson the hard way."

Companies that sponsor the usually squeaky-clean group have said they are "disappointed" about the incident and quickly pointed out that their firm "would never condone the use of drugs."

In more S Club 7 news, the group will launch their first U.K. tour on May 31 and hope to make a big-screen movie. They also want to do several live performances in North America this year.
