Jessica prepares new album
Jessica Simpson is working on her second album.
The blond pop singer, and girlfriend of 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey, plans to release a new album next year, Wall Of Sound reports.
Jessica's first album, "Sweet Kisses," was full of light-hearted, sugary pop love songs, but Jessica says fans can expect a slightly different sound on her next effort.
"The album is a little bit R&B, but the first single won't be, because I don't want to shock anyone," Jessica told Wall Of Sound. "It's a great album, and I think that everyone will be able to relate to it. I'll have one or two songs on it that I wrote, too."
Fans can get a taste of Jessica's new sound on the "Rugrats In Paris" soundtrack. It features the song "Final Heartbreak", which will also be included on her new album.
On top of preparing a new album, Jessica is also looking forward to the American Music Awards -- she's nominated for Favorite New Artist, along with Macy Gray and 3 Doors Down.
"When I got the call for being nominated, I was crying," she told Wall Of Sound. "That was the best part of my career. I was screaming, and it felt really good. I can't believe I'm respected like that."
