Jessica's under the weather
Jessica Simpson won't be able to make any live appearances until the new year.
The newest sensation in the female pop world has an upper respiratory infection and plans to spend the next few weeks resting, MTV reports.
Jessica, who just released her debut album "Sweet Kisses," cancelled promotional appearances in Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Detroit, Los Angeles and Sacramento. She's also decided not to appear on Barbara Walter's talk show, "The View".
"I feel absolutely terrible about having to cancel these shows," Jessica said in a statement. "I was really looking forward to performing and celebrating the holidays with all my fans on the road."
Jessica spent a lot of time on the road earlier this year. The singer toured with superstar Ricky Martin during the fall and plans to return to the road and make up for cancelled appearances early in the new year.
Meanwhile, fans can watch Jessica on January 8th during a special titled "Katarina Witt's Divas On Ice", which will air on NBC at 4 p.m. (ET).
