Britney chooses Pepsi

Britney Spears is a Pepsi girl.

The pop star made her cola preference clear when she signed a global marketing agreement that includes TV ads and a co-sponsorship on world-wide concert tours, according to a news release. Her first ad is expected to air during the Academy Awards, March 25.

"I'm a big fan of Pepsi products and Pepsi commercials,'' said Britney at the official announcement of the agreement. "My life and my career have been blessed. The chance to follow some of my heroes -- some incredible performers -- and create something new with the innovative people at Pepsi is very exciting for me."

Dawn Hudson, the senior vice president of strategy and marketing for Pepsi, was equally positive about signing the teen queen.

"Britney is on the cutting edge of contemporary, popular entertainment," said Hudson. "She's youthful, inventive, optimistic and fun-loving - the ultimate fit with brand Pepsi. Our relationship will resonate in every corner of the marketplace."

The Pepsi deal will also include point-of-purchase items, links to their two website, http://www.britneyspears.com and http://www.pepsi.com and promotions.
