Britney's novel due this Spring

Britney Spears will unleash her next project on April 10 and it won't be a new album.

Britney and her mother Lynne Spears will release their latest book, "A Mother's Gift", this spring.

Although the book is a work of fiction, some elements closely mirror the life of Britney herself.

According to Random House's official website, the fictional book is about Holly Faye Lovell. Holly comes from a small town in Mississippi and is a talented singer.

When she turns fourteen, Holly wins a scholarship to a music school which means the young singer will be separated from her mother for the first time in her life.

Holly and her mother Wanda have a close relationship but her mom has a large scar on her face that startles people who don't know her.

As the main character makes friends at her fancy new school, she becomes embarrassed by her mother and her poor background.

"And Wanda finds herself wanting to reveal a long-hidden secret . . . a secret that could destroy their bond forever," reads the Random House synopsis.

Some of the proceeds from "A Mother's Gift" will go the The Britney Spears Foundation that provides art education for underprivileged children.

Lynne and Britney have teamed up on books before. The two released "Heart To Heart," that was part Britney biography and part mother/daughter relationship guide.

Random House reportedly paid $1 million for "A Mother's Gift" and a yet-to-be-titled Christmas-themed novel from the duo, Wall Of Sound reports.
