The Britney Spears Pepsi commercial will debut on TV during the Academy Awards this weekend, but fans of the soft drink and the songstress can get a sneak peak of the ad online.
The commercial will air on Yahoo! (http://pepsi.yahoo.com/britney) on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET, two hours before it airs on TV.
The ad is called "Performance". Set in a Pepsi bottling plant, it shows Britney singing her own version of the "Joy Of Pepsi" jingle and footage of people watching the commercial, including U.S. politician Bob Dole.
"This spot captures the true essence of Britney -- her youthful and fun-loving spirit and her sense of optimism," said Dawn Hudson, senior vice president, strategy and marketing, Pepsi-Cola North America. "We've never premiered a commercial online, but considering the audience that Yahoo! delivers, it is the perfect place to showcase new Pepsi advertising."
Starting today (March 20), fans can watch behind-the-scenes footage on the Pepsi/Yahoo page, including excerpts from Britney's diary from the making of the commercial and a 15-second teaser of the commercial. Fans can also win prizes including autographed Britney photos, "Joy Of Pepsi" CDs and the jump-suit Britney wore in the commercial.
In more Britney news, the young singer has just finished a week of filming her debut movie in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Hammond, MTV reports.
Britney's movie, "What Are Friends For," follows the exploits of Britney's character, an A student, who meets up with two old friends for a long road trip. The three girls come across a musician on their trip who encourages them to take part in a musical competition.
