Two DJs who started a major pop scare have been fired.
The Dallas-based DJs were responsible for spreading last week's rumour that pop princess Britney Spears and her *Nsync star boyfriend Justin Timberlake were in a fatal car crash, Reuters reports.
After "Kramer and Twitch" claimed that Britney had died in the crash and Justin was in a coma, police and fire officials in Los Angeles were swamped with phone calls inquiring about the story.
In more Britney news, the pop star has decided to nurture new talent. The singer recently formed her very own production company and her first protege will be a seventeen-year-old country singer named Kristy Lee, Allstar reports.
Britney plans to make a brief appearance in Kristy's debut video.
Britney met Kristy through Larry Rudolph, who is her manager and Kristy's attorney. Rudolph said that "Britney fell in love with Kristy's voice the first time she heard it".
Kristy and Britney bonded when they found out the each came from a small town.
Kristy's debut release is expected in spring 2002.
