Britney Spears is getting professional encouragement from a Canadian comic.
Dan Aykroyd co-stars with the pop princess in her upcoming, yet to be titled film, and had only good things to say about the singer, Music 365 reports.
"She is a good actress," he said. "I mean, she's got the essence of greatness there."
In the movie, the comedian plays Britney's dad, a former Navy man who wants to crush Britney's character's dreams of becoming a pop star. Eventually, Britney's character runs away from home.
According to previous reports, the script revolves around Britney's character and two other girls, who all decide to take a road trip across the U.S.
During their journeys, they meet a musician, who convinces them to go to L.A. and enter a musical competition.
U.K. pop star Dido wrote songs for Britney to sing in the movie.
