The girls will have to pay $600,000 (US) to an Italian scooter maker for damages and legal costs, Reuters reports.
The judge ruled that the group members knew that Ginger Spice (Geri Halliwell) planned to leave the successful pop group before they signed a deal to promote Aprilia SpA's Sonic Spice scooter whose promotional campaign featured all five girls, Geri included.
Aprilia claimed Geri's absence hurt their ad campaign and made it necessary for them to be reimbursed.
