Baby's ex slams Spice fame

Baby Spice's ex-boyfriend says Emma Bunton is too famous.

John Simm, a British actor, dated Emma after the two met by accident in a recording studio, Music 365 reports.

Simms didn't have many negative things to say about Emma as a person, calling her "very funny and charming and much cooler than I expected," but he did say that her celebrity status wore thin.

"If there is such a thing as being too famous, she was it," John told U.K. paper The Mirror. "We just couldn't go out because of all the attention Emma attracted. She couldn't venture past the front door. She was a prisoner. She had lots of people around her, but she couldn't do the most down-to-earth things. She lived in a bubble."

Emma and John broke up after details about their relationship were revealed to the press. John also said that he thinks people in charge of the Spice Girls' image might not have thought he was the most suitable mate for Emma after his role in the risky film "Human Traffic".

"It wouldn't have been good for her image," John said. "I certainly wasn't Spice boyfriend material, and I reckon her people put some pressure on."
