Scary's album disappoints

Scary Spice's solo album is tanking in the U.K.

Mel B's debut effort, "Hot," struggled to a lowly No. 28 on the U.K. charts this week, two spots below fellow Spice Girls Mel C's "Northern Star", even though Sporty's album has been out for almost a year, Reuters reports.

"The only thing I would point out is that Mel C's album took a while before people accepted it but has gone on to be a massive success," a spokesman for Mel B told the Daily Express newspaper.

Meanwhile, Scary's private life is heating up, too.

According to Dotmusic, The Spice Girl and her soon-to-be-ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar are in the midst of custody trouble over their daughter Phoenix Chi.

Jimmy and Melanie made an arrangement earlier this year that allowed the dancer to see his daughter every other weekend. Jimmy is now challenging their agreement.

Jimmy is going to the High Court in the hopes of winning the opportunity to see Phoenix every weekend and whenever Mel B is away performing.

Jimmy and Mel met in 1998 while he was a dancer for the Spice Girls' world tour.

Scary reportedly hopes the divorce will be finalized next month.
