You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why, Santa Spice is coming to town!

That's right, boys and girls: Mel C, the Spice Girl Formerly Known as Sporty, will be at the HMV stage in West Edmonton Mall this Friday at 7 p.m. She's promoting her solo album, Northern Star, as well as the Spice Girls' latest offering, Forever. Her first Alberta appearance will be in the "Intimate and Interactive" format: Play a couple of songs, answer a couple of questions, songs, questions, followed by an autograph session.

I asked Virgin Music rep Rick Ridsdale how many fans are expected. "This is Mel C of the Spice Girls at Christmas time in a mall," he says. "I don't know - a lot."

VIP passes - assuring an autograph and at least a chance to ask a question - are available by listening to Power 92.

If you just want to watch the spectacle unfold in all its spicy, screaming glory, the event is open to the public.
