Are Robbie and Geri together?
Robbie Williams and Geri Halliwell aren't lovers their spokespeople claim.
According to The London Sun, the ex-Spice Girl and the U.K.'s hottest solo pop act left for a holiday together in the south of France Tuesday night.
Despite The Sun's enthusiastic story about a Geri and Robbie romance, spokespeople for the two music stars announced that the story was "rubbish", Reuters reports.
"There is absolutely nothing going on between them," said Iona Hames, a spokeswoman for Robbie. "They are just good friends."
Hames went on to say that both Robbie and Geri are on holiday but that there are "a number of other people" with them.
"There is absolutely no romance whatsoever," said Jonathan Hackford, Geri's spokesman. "They have known each other for a while and have a lot in common, coming from similar backgrounds."
But the Sun has taken the hint of romance and run with it.
"He's been saying he thinks he's fallen in love with Geri," a friend of Robbie's told the paper. "He has had a lot of one-night stands, but he believes there could be much more to this."
Whispered rumours about a possible romance grew louder when Geri was photographed leaving Robbie's home early in the morning last week.
Geri is not the first Spice (or ex-Spice) Girl to have dated Robbie. Her former band-mate Mel C (Sporty Spice) had a brief affair with Robbie.
Geri was said to have given Robbie the "cold shoulder" after he and Mel got together. However, Geri and Robbie renewed their friendship in November when they both sang at Prince Charles' 50th birthday celebration, and they were seen having an intense conversation at the Capital Radio Awards in London in April.
Geri's past romances have included a much publicized affair with U.K. radio personality Chris Evans, while Robbie has dated Mel C, the Corrs Andrea Corr, and All Saint Nicole Appleton.
