Robbie Williams to pen novel
After terrorizing the rock world with his rowdy antics, British singer
Robbie Williams will next turn his attention to the sedate world of
publishing.
Williams has signed a publishing deal worth $1.2 million to write a
personal account of his life on the road, the BBC reports.
"There's nothing we wouldn't have done to get Robbie on our list. We've
been after him for years. Luckily, all we had to do was show him our
best ideas, demonstrate our extreme enthusiasm and prove our marketing
nouse. I'm relieved - and thoroughly chuffed to bits," Ebury publishing
director Jake Lingwood told the BBC.
Williams will write the book with celeb-book specialist Mark McCrum, and
the results are due on shelves in September. A tie-in TV documentary is
also being prepared, the BBC said.
