Dinner Tanka
By Zoë
I
Last night for dinner:
Chicken Rude Awakening;
Like Chicken Suprise-
The suprise?
Nobody died;
(Not like we ate all of it).
II
Medium-rare thigh,
On a bed of Minute Rice,
With a curdled sauce
Which used to be sour cream;
Closely resemb'ling fresh brain.
III
Horribly greyish,
But pink middle lends colour;
Frighteningly rare:
May attack at any time-
Eat it before it eats you.
IV
Minute Rice is bland;
Great Value Minute Rice
Can never be good;
T'was well-executed, though;
Get yours at Wal-Mart today.
V
Much is remaining,
Could be eating it for days:
Chicken Persistent;
Chicken Rude Awakening
Will surely get worse with time.
More creative
writing.
