The NeXIz -- The next generation

A group of five friends walked down the street of a crowded city, the power had shut down leaving the town in the dark. Marc, a tall man with black hair, and blue eyes, and was tall, Selena was medium height, she had shoulder length chestnut hair with sharp blond and red streaks with matched her hazel eyes, Alexis was tall and blond who had green eyes, Jess was average height and had flamboyant red hair with bluish green eyes and Rick was also medium height and has short black and blue hair, with brown eyes and a muscular build, had all been friends for years.
Tonight was special though. It was a party for their friend
Jess. Who had been diagnosed with leukaemia and had just
had an operation so they had decided to throw him a party
to help him get better.
"Hey Marc, check that out!" Alexis said as she pointed up
to the sky.
"What?"
"Look!"
A big white snake like cylinder appeared in the sky and started to do a spiral in the air. And spiralled until it split at most thirty meters above the five. It split in two, then the two split into four, and then the four split into eight, then to eighteen, then to thirty two, then to sixty four. And each cylinder was a different colour. A large red one shot down form the sky and landed on Jessa and lifted her into the air. Then a blue shot down and pulled Marc up. Then a green one came and picked up Rick. A Peach one picked up Selena. And a large yellow one picked up Alexis. All the other columns flew away in pairs, they continued to split, but some joined together and flew off.
Marc hung like a puppet, only there was nothing logical supporting him, just a massive force of light. He just stood there totally suspended by the light without form but was solid.
"Marc, I know you can hear me because you have been chosen by the Nexiz, as have your friends, and many teenagers all over the world."
"What the? Who's there?"
"I am The ORE. Opaque responding entity. I am the closest thing to the Nexiz. The Nexiz has power beyond belief. It can crush a planet, but you have been chosen to save it."
"Where are my friends?"
"They are here, do you even know where you are?"
"What kind of stupid question is that?"
"Look around."
Marc did. He was no longer flying above his city. Well he was, but not really. He was floating, and the light Column had disappeared. He looked around and saw all his friends floating around him. They all were floating in space yet they were still warm, they could breathe, and they could hear each other.
They started to fly towards a magnetic storm that looked something like the northern lights except the colours were blinding. They formed a gate.
But before he could try to figure it out, they started to fly through the storm and stopped. They looked at each other, bolts of electricity passed right through them with out phasing them in the least.
Suddenly a cloud appeared in the middle of them. A face appeared and opened a massive mouth, a light like the one that first picked them up came up from the open cloud mouth, it shattered into five different coloured lights around
a foot above it and each of the bolts shot to the people, and the whole scene went black.
Rick woke up in his room. He looked around. His blue painted walls, an aquarium in the corner. His computer. The only thing different was the fact that the computer was on. He got out of his bed and went to turn it off when he saw a flashing light in the corner. He clicked it and an e-mail appeared on a screen.
"Rick- You have been chosen. Come to meet me and your friends at 11:00 am at the waterfall park."
Rick just stood there. He was shocked. He had thought it was just a dream. He looked at the clock in the corner of his screen. It was 10:30. He had half hour to get to the park. He turned and got changed into baggy blue jeans, a black camouflage T-shirt and put on his sandals. But then something dawned on him. He didn’t have the Internet in his computer.
Selena started to run. She had been jogging for fifteen minutes but if she was going to make it to the park in time she had to run. She only had a few blocks to go. Their city was very beautiful. It had skyscrapers like Toronto, outdoor cafes like Paris, large cobblestone sidewalks and roads, and trees grew naturally everywhere. Everyone was polite, and they would always have a conversation or just give you a smile.
She finally made it to the park. Every time she walked into it, it took her breath away. The path had two waterfalls along the sides of the pathway. And then it opened up into a garden with fountains that seemed to jump over guests. In the middle of park, which was actually a town square, was a giant fountain that sprayed water of every colour of the rainbow. The reason it was called waterfall park though, was that the square was made of glass. If you looked down you could see the water flowing underneath you. And on the other side of the square there was a fence, which you could look off of and see the waterfall literally erupt underneath you, and the view was absolutely incredible. Forest
stretched on for miles or green hills.
“Hey Selena!” She turned around and saw Rick running towards her. Surprisingly there was no one else in the park at the time.
“Hey Rick. Did, did you get...”
“The email? Yeah. I wonder what’s going on.”
Rick smiled at Selena. She smiled back. He had always had a little crush on her, and he hoped she felt the same way.
Alexis, Marc and Jessa all walked into the park together, each one with a scoop of ice cream from the vendor right across the street.
“Yo! Lovebirds!” Marc shouted. Selena and Rick both looked around at them with a look of disgust on their faces, even though they were both visibly blushing. But before anyone else had the chance to say anything, a ball of light appeared above the fountain. The light came towards the five people and grew, and grew until it literally consumed them.
They flew back from the immense power of it, but were held in place by some unknown force.
"Prepare yourselves, for the Nexis will come, but he will not be alone. With him, he will bring his
enemies. The Shadows are evil creatures, and they can take on the form of any creature, human or otherwise. Watch yourselves. You will soon receive powers beyond your wildest imaginations. Be prepared."
When those words were done, the force holding them in place vanished and the five were thrown, right over the waterfall...
