'Josie' movie spawns 'The Archies' ?
The release of "Josie And The Pussycats" could end up bringing Archie and the gang to a movie theatre near you.
The movie, based on the comic about a musical trio of cute girls, will be released on April 11 and it might give a push to "The Archies", zap2it.com reports.
The early buzz on "Josie" is extremely positive, which would be good news for a dusty draft of "The Archies" script written by David Chase, the now-famous creator of HBO's hit series "The Sopranos".
Chase wrote two drafts of "The Archies" more than five years ago, but his slightly dark script and scenes didn't go over well with Universal Studios.
Now, in the face of the possible hit "Josie", and the definite hit "The Sopranos," a movie about the red-headed Archie, Veronica and Betty might see the light of day.
