B4-4 loses URL

Canadian pop act B4-4 doesn't seem to have an official website anymore.

The group's old web address -- www.b4-4.com -- now links to www.WRESTLEMANIA.biz, a website that allows users to purchase tickets for Wrestlemania 18 in Toronto on March 17.

Officials at Sony Music Canada are trying to sort out the issue.

b4-4 chat

b4-4 took time out of their busy schedule to chat with their fans on AllPop.com on Friday, August 18.. Below is the complete transcript of the chat.

Kristen: FIRST I WANNA SAY YOU GUYS ROCK!!! I MET YOU AT THE SONY THING AND IT WAS SOOOO AWESOME. I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD SPEND A DAY WITH ANYONE IN THE WORLD WHO WOULD IT BE?? AND WHY??? THANKS A BUNCH LOTS OF LOVE KRISTEN *P*S*****OHAD YOU ROCK!!!!!

b4-4: Hey, what's up! We're right now on the set of our video shoot! Probably Stevie Wonder, he's a big inspiration for us, we've listened to him since we were little kids. Michael Jackson, we've grown up with him.

jenn: on your website under fan links, there are 3 websites that claim to be each 1 of your personal websites about yourself. there is even an e-mail address where fans can reach you. are those websites under fan links really yours? or are they just some one who are impersonating you guys?

b4-4: Each one of us made one... We just wanted to share the funny stories that we've had! Those are our real sites, for sure! Ryan wants to say thank you so much for all your poodle pictures!!!

~*ashley*~: In the future, do u guys ever think you'll make dolls or a movie/video on how u came together, or how the industry treated u?---(stuff like that) Love ya sooo much! -~*ashley*~

b4-4: Right now we're just focusing on performing and getting out there. Ummm, maybe make movies one day. Truth is we haven't really thought about that in great detail.

BlueLava: Have you guys pulled any wacky pranks on each other recently? *ahem* I heard about the whole "throwing-Ohad-out-of-the-room-naked" incident =)

b4-4: No...but a funny thing happened to Ohad, we were on our way to a radio station and a bird crapped on Ohad's head. What a klutz! He wiped it off.

Joanna: Have your fans ever done anything really crazy to meet you?

b4-4: Let's see, they've given us crazy things... panties and one girl wrote a letter on her underwear and gave it to us, one person gave us a poodle. It was so sweet!

silvercharms: What is your ultimate goal in life, and what is your greatest fear?

b4-4: Our ultimate goal is to reach the entire world...everyone on planet earth with our music. Our greatest fear is probably losing our voice.

Jamie Ohad,Is being a popstar different from what you thought it would be like?

b4-4: No, I knew before I got into it that its a give and take. I kind of had to give my life away (walking around the mall....) give away my private life. I was expecting that. You give those things up for a dream.

Alexandra: Ryan and Ohad I was wondering where your obsession with poodles came from???

b4-4: It's actually only Ryan. When I was young I thought that I was a poodle. Because I always felt like a poodle (laughs!)

Nancy: What is the craziest thing you guys have ever done to get a girl attention???

b4-4: I bought her a poodle (Ryan) Ohad - I mooned someone! Dan - I don't even know. Dan is romantic. He gets flowers, romantic dinner.

Katherine: What was your favourite song to record? Why?

b4-4: It's a hard question to answer because I love all the songs on the album and they each have a special meaning. For example Smile was the first song we ever recorded so it's special Ohad - Everyday Ryan - Endlessly Dan - Get Down

Pure Delight: Hey guys, I heard u were coming to Vancouver..is it true?

b4-4: For tour information you can look on our site b4-4.com!

Anik bourbonnais: do you guys have girlfriend

b4-4: We're all single!!! We're waiting for the right girl to come along.

lucia : RYAN/DAN when get mad at each other don't you ever get bored of twins?

b4-4: Sometimes we get mad at each other but it only lasts for about five minutes. We love being twins!! It's like growing up with your best friend. It's like being with your best friend 24/7

Ana: What do you guys do in your free time??

b4-4: We don't really get much free time but when we do we usually go to the movies. We love comedies. Favourite films: The Green Mile - Ryan & Dan Titanic and American Pie - Ohad For anyone who hasn't seen The Green Mile...go see it! It's the best movie.

Carly: what would be your idea of the perfect date??

b4-4: Perfect date: Ryan - I like doing crazy things. Like taking a girl in a helicopter at night...flying all over the city, looking at all the beautiful nights with a nice candle-light dinner with rose petals all over the place. No wine because I don't drink. Dan - A great date to me would be on top of an extremely high mountain. I'd love it! I would have a nice blanket set out on the top of the mountain with some soufflé. Ohad - Cuddling with a girl at an exotic beach. Ibiza

Lisa & Daniela: Boxers or briefs????

b4-4: Ryan - nothing Dan - a towel Ohad - a thong

jenn: a lot of parents on my street don't like the words in some of your songs. to them its inappropriate if their children listen to it. I'm thankful that my parents aren't the ones who complain about that! I know that prozaak helped you guys out in the writing of the songs, but i was wondering what your perspective of this was.

b4-4: Ohad - I think if you listen to the words it's talking about a give and take in a relationship (the words in Get Down)

Alicia Moffatt: Hi guyz....i was at your concert in Edmonton and u guyz did great!! I just wanted to know if u guyz have girlfriends...and if u don't would u ever consider goin out with a fan???

b4-4: For sure!! We're just waiting for the right girl to come along. The right girl would be a...green one (Ryan says a poodle) Ohad - I've dated a fan. Things didn't work out. We've actually all dated a fan.

peck: How did you all meet?

b4-4: We met through a mutual friend about eight years ago. We just automatically clicked. We became best friends instantly. A lot of it has to do with our passion for music.

Maggie Cunningham: What is like being compared to Backstreet boys, NSYNC and other boy bands?

b4-4: All those groups have done so well and we have a lot of respect for them. And we have a lot of respect for anyone who can make it in the music industry. To be compared to those groups, well, right now we're living our dream, that's all we focus on!

crislee: If all 3 of you were on the tv show "Survivor" who would you expect to get kicked off the island first and why?

b4-4: I think Ryan because of his obsessions with poodles.

Becky Yates: Dear B4-4, Why did you choose B4-4 for your name? I LOVE YOU!!

b4-4: I lot of people don't know what it means. It means Before four, which is three. We wanted this name..we wanted a simple name that people would think about. We came up with it together.

Alyssa: Ohad, I heard that you have a BMW...what colour is it and how many people does it seat?

b4-4: Black and it seats four people. I love cars. There are many nice cars in our video.

b4-4 Girl: Hi Ryan, Ohad and Dan! I think you guys are very talented. My question is What is your most embarrassing moment?

b4-4: Ryan - slipped on a banana peel on stage and all the lights fell, the stage collapsed. (We think he's teasing us). Ohad - I walked into an old lady and she fell. Dan - We were staying at a hotel and Ryan and Ohad took away all my clothes and I had to walk around the hotel naked.

Melissa: HI guys me and my cousin have a pop group and can u please give us some advice, we write our own songs and practice everyday.

b4-4: Just to never, ever give up!!! Go with your gut, keep working. It will happen if you want it that badly. "You've really got to want it."

Courtney Pantola: Is b4-4 ever coming to tour in the U.S.??

b4-4: Yes...very soon. Right now we're just focusing on Canada. Within a few months we'll be hitting the U.S.

Jen: which spice girl is your fave?

b4-4: Ryan - Poodle Spice Ohad - Baby Dan - Sporty Spice (We love AllPop.com!!! AllPop is the # 1 site in the world)

rach: I was just wondering if any of you are still in any form of education, or not?

b4-4: We've all graduated from highschool. Ohad just finished this year with a private teacher.

nicole ...ryansgirlforever@comic.com: if you were not to be a singer what would you want to be ? i may not get this so please it would be greatly appreciated if you amazing guys could email your response to me...thanks your # one fan...and all you other girls know i am the # one fan

b4-4: Ryan - A Poodle trainer Dan - All I would want to do is sing. I've been singing my whole life. Ohad - I'd want to be Ryan's assistant.

Tracy: What do you guys think separates you from all the other " boybands"?

b4-4: I think that it's our feet (joke!) We're living our dream and our fans will find there own differences.

Rosie cako: Hey guys! It's Rosie....I really love your music! Anyways, who sings the part in the song "Go Go" that says: "Jay and James roll the tape,I'm ready to roll"???? Thanks!

b4-4: Ryan sings that!

Jeanie: Hey! I'm one of the biggest fans and u inspire me soo much! I was wondering what is the most touching or inspiring moments in your lives so far! Thanx HuGz!

b4-4: March 18 1999 the day we got signed to Sony Records. We cried! Ryan went to the pet store.

Megan: if you had 3 wishes what would they be???

b4-4: Our wish is to be the biggest group on earth!

Joanna: Dan and Ryan- Do you guys have any kind of Psychic twin thing happening?

b4-4: Yes!! A lot of the time we know what each other is thinking! When we were kids we were going for a walk and Ryan was walking and Dan got stung by a bee and Ryan was in front and didn't see that Dan got stung but he still felt it. That was pretty crazy.

Candice: When is your new video Go Go coming out?

b4-4: Within the next three weeks. It's a big surprise! (The boys are repeating: We loooove AllPop!)

Lynsie: Does the constant screaming or following you around ever get on your nerves?

b4-4: No way! Not at all. I can't imagine ever getting sick of it. It's the best feeling ever for all of us.

Kailey: Do you guys have any crushes on celebrity's??

b4-4: No really no, only fans. We're looking for the right fan.

[ashley]: I can see that U guys are very close to your fans. I definitely saw that in Oakville when U sang "Happy B-Day" to my friend and gave hugz to everyone who asked you for one! You have no idea what a simple wave or smile can do :) Is it sometimes hard for you guys to try 'n make ALL of your fans happy?

b4-4: Ummm, it can get hard because... it's a little upsetting to us that we can't get to every single one of our fans. We look at our fans as our family and we all work together to create b4-4. We are all really b4-4.

b4-4: Thank you all so so so so so so so much for taking the time to talk to us and sorry if we didn't get to everyone's questions. And we hope to do this again soon on AllPop. We'll see everyone soon at our next show...thanks for all of your support and advice you've given us. You are the best fans on earth.

New pop trio opening for LFO

A new pop trio getting ready for a big gig with LFO.

The new group, b4-4, will be opening for LFO in Toronto on May 10th at The Opera House.

b4-4 is made up of identical twins, Ryan and Dan and their friend Ohad and the three boys are gearing up for the June 6 release of their debut album.

The group was discovered almost by accident. While dreaming about getting a record deal, Ryan, Dan and Ohad walked into Sony and ended up giving an impromptu performance for the head of Sony Music Canada's A & R department and the chief engineer for Sony's Oasis recording studios.

b4-4's good timing resulted in a 12-track album that all three members are excited about.

"Recording this album was like a dream," Ohad told Sony. "I'd wake up at 4 a.m. some mornings and just wait for the moment when I could leave the house and go to the recording studio. Ryan and Dan would sometimes sleep over, and we rented a bunch of gear, microphones, amps, basic stuff, just so we could go home to my basement at night after a day in the studio and practice, practice, practice, so that each day in the studio would be the best it could be."

b4-4's's current single is "Get Down" ,written by Jason Levine and James McCollum (the creative force behind Prozzak), and you can hear a clip of the single for yourself on the group's official website.

b4-4 Go-Going to the big time
By IAN NATHANSON
Ottawa Sun

They came, they sang, they conquered.

How b4-4, a new Toronto-based boy-band trio, managed to get signed to major label Sony Music and subsequently get to record their self-titled debut was a case of determination, bravery and right-place, right-time luck.

In search of some free publicity around March 1999, image-savvy twins Ryan and Daniel Kowarsky, 20, and best friend Ohad Einbinder, 18, were originally destined to pop a loonie at the famed Speaker's Corner booth attached to the MuchMusic building in Toronto.

As it turned out, b4-4 (pronounced 'Before Four') didn't quite make it there. Instead, a different let's-get-noticed tactic was suggested.

"In the car on the way (to Speaker's Corner), Ohad said, 'Hey, why don't we go to a record company? How about Sony Music?,' " recalls Daniel Kowarsky by phone on a break from shooting their latest video, Go Go.

SWEET-TALKING SECRETARY

"The next thing you know we found ourselves trying to convince the secretary to letting us in," Kowarsky says. "At one moment, two guys walked out, saw us trying to sweet-talk the secretary and said, 'Come on in and sing for us. By the way, who are you guys?' We told them, 'Uh, we're the postmen.' "

The two attentive listeners turned out to be none other than the vice-president of Sony Music Canada's A&R department and the chief engineer for Sony's Oasis recording studios.

The trio were signed on the spot. "It's so amazing, we're soooo lucky," Kowarsky says.

Topping a pop music bill tomorrow night at the Civic Centre Theatre as part of Super Ex 2000, b4-4's debut record has already been certified gold in Canada. Recent performances have also elicited their share of eager young fans, jamming their website (www.b4-4.com) with requests and screaming at their live shows.

But the band doesn't mind one bit. "We're living a dream right now," Kowarsky says. "It's such an adrenaline rush to get up and say, 'I can't wait to go to work.' This is what we want to do. Music, music, music, all the time."
