Monica and Justin

Monica is teaming up with *Nsync star Justin Timberlake.

The two are scheduled to begin shooting a movie this summer, Launch.com reports.

So far, there aren't many details about the movie, but Monica did go on to explain some of her musical plans.

The singer's last album, "The Boy Is Mine", was released in 1998, and she thinks she's almost ready to go back to work.

"You know I've been promoting the last album for almost two and a half years now, so I think it is that time," she told Launch. "I think I would rather do things that are pertaining to music but not quit, you know, still doing those records. Not that there's any problem with doing them. So I'll probably just continue to support things that I really believe in throughout the summer and then go in to work closer to the winter."

Aside from acting and recording, Monica's also been thinking about charity. Her favourite charity is "Make A Wish".

"I really love [Make A Wish] 'cause they bring kids out to those things," she told Launch. "Whatever they wish for, that's what they do for them. Whether it's a meal with me or coming over my mother's house or coming to the video shoot. Whatever it is, they bring them to do it."

Monica honoured by her home town

By JOHN MOLINARO

Arista recording artist Monica was honoured by her hometown of Atlanta, GA celebrating her Grammy win back in February.

The 18-year old artist won the Best R&B Single Grammy for her duet with Brandy on 'The Boy is mine'. Mayor Bill Campbell presented her with the Phoenix Award for being the only 1999 Grammy winner from Atlanta.

Celebrities who attended the event included TLC, Outkast, Jermaine Dupri, Usher, Montell Jordan, Faith Evans and Atlanta Falcons' running back Jamal Anderson.

This summer will see Monica splitting her time between two tours. She'll be making her first appearance on Sarah Mclachlan's Lilith Fair Tour as well as appearing as one of the headline acts at Nickelodeon's "All That Music & More Fest" Tour with fellow teen sensations Tatyana Ali, Aaron Carter, 3rd Storee, and No Authority.
