Jessica Biel, star of the wholesome WB program "7th Heaven", wishes she'd never stripped down for a provocative and controversial photo spread in "Gear" magazine last year.

The 19-year-old actress caused a stir when she posed for the magazine wearing very little clothing, which upset her fans and Aaron Spelling, the big boss of "7th Heaven", the hit show centered around a well-behaved family and their minister father, TV Guide reports.

"I was just being a little brat, going through a really tough time in my personal life," Jessica told TV Guide online about the photo spread. "It was such a huge learning thing, and it's too bad I had to learn it in front of everybody."

Now, Jessica says she's willing to be "a role model".

"It's scary to think that I might have hurt a girl [in] some way by saying something or wearing something [inappropriate]," she said.

Although Jessica appeared on the show only part-time last season, as AllPop previously reported, she's taking a break from her university studies and will be on "7th" full-time this year.

Next up for the actress is the Freddie Prinze Jr. film "Summer Catch", which opens Friday (Aug. 24).
