Joss Whedon is annoyed with the company that produces his two hit sci-fi shows, "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and "Angel".
20th Century Fox, the production company that overseas Whedon's shows, pitted new drama "Dark Angel" against the WB's "Angel", starring David Boreanaz, on Tuesday nights, TV Guide reports.
"Dark Angel," starring Jessica Alba, has taken a chunk out of "Angel's" ratings, and Whedon isn't pleased.
"The fact that they put ["Dark Angel"] on opposite a show that they produce, thereby hurting it, shows that they really don't care," Whedon told TV Guide Online. "Their big picture is clearly so big that whatever I think and whatever I am doing doesn't matter, and I resent that. But I am not the 'Big Picture Guy.' I'm just making my shows."
Whedon went on to say that he's also unhappy about the title of "Angel's" competitor.
"I watch ["Dark Angel"], and her name is not 'Angel,' and she's not an angel, so why the [expletive] would they call it that?"
"Angel" could face more trouble next season. If "Buffy" is moved from the WB, the show will lose a strong ratings lead-in, although Whedon said he's confident fans of "Angel" will continue to watch the show.
