UPN wouldn't mind giving a home to a vampire or two.
The network is hoping to grab "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" if the supernatural show doesn't make a deal with its current home, The WB, soon, Variety reports.
TV insiders are saying that UPN has given the "Buffy" producers a "significant offer", although the network is still considered a long shot home for the series that stars Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The WB continues to negotiate with 20th Century Fox Television, which produces the series, and some think the network has increased its original $1.6 million per episode offer.
The show could also be sold to the Fox network.
Joss Whedon, the creator of "Buffy", has expressed his displeasure with people at the show's current network, specifically WB entertainment chief Jamie Kellner.
Kellner told Entertainment Weekly that "Buffy" wasn't the network's most popular show and that it drew mainly from a teen audience.
"I said, 'Why is he mean to me? Why does he insult my show?'," Joss responded to the magazine.
Despite the negative back-and-forth between Joss and Kellner, the "Buffy" mastermind still said he would be happy if his show stayed on the WB.
