UPN promises an extra-long 'Buffy'

When "Buffy The Vampire" airs for the first time on its new home, fans of the relocated series will be in for a treat.

UPN, which recently snatched the supernatural show from The WB, plans to air a two-hour season premiere of "Buffy" this fall, zap2it.com reports.

The purpose of the extra-long episode is to introduce new viewers to the Slayer (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and her gang while continuing to update the show's supernatural adventures for long-time fans.

UPN has no official start-date for "Buffy" but expects to launch the new episodes of their programs in August to beat out the other networks, which traditionally begin airing season debuts in late September.
