'Buffy' clues for next season

There's still many weeks to go before "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" fans will find out how the show's creator plans to revive their vampire-staking heroine (Sarah Michelle Gellar), but the co-executive producer of the show is already talking about the upcoming season.

Marti Noxon said that there are already four completed "Buffy" scripts for the new season on UPN and that Joss Whedon, the show's creator, is feverishly mapping out the sixth, which will be an all-musical episode, zap2it.com reports.

"Almost all the cast sings," she says. "Michelle [who plays Dawn] is more of a dancer, so she wanted to dance. Joss himself is writing the music. Like a real musical, it's all going to be tailored to the show."

But what most fans really want to know, is how Buffy -- who leapt to her death during last month's season finale in an effort to save her sister -- will return from the dead.

Noxon said that Buffy is indeed dead but that: "In the 'Buffy' universe, death can be a complication, but you can overcome it if you try hard enough."

Meanwhile, on the "Buffy" posting board, die-hard fans of the supernatural show continue to spew out various theories about the Slayer's return to TV.

One poster, calling himself/herself "genrefan" had a complex list of possible plot twists for the show's next season.

"1. Buffy's comeback:," reads the post. "It does seem unlikely that Dawn or the Scoobies would take an active role in resurrecting Buffy, given our little morality lecture in Forever. If something evil does it, do you think it will be Doc? Spike was morally ok with resurrection, too. Maybe he'll do it.

2. Chip issues: Who would have thought that one little piece of plastic could make things so very interesting. I'd like to think that, if the chip came out, Spike could still be good. I don't think we'll see that anytime soon, though. If it did stop working, I think Spike would be terrified, especially if Buffy were back. He'd either have to hide his secret, or throw himself on the mercy of his beloved, come clean, and try to convince her that he's "good" enough and trustworthy enough not to be staked.

3. I loved City On The Edge Of Forever. But, I'm not sure I get the connection you're making to S6. They couldn't go back and stop Buffy from jumping without risking destroying the whole world, Buffy included. I'm wondering if it will be more like Star Trek 3 ( movie). I think the portal sucked out Buffy's soul as she died, and returned to Dawn as the portal closed. Perhaps Dawn will have dreams or visions where she talks to the Buffy inside her. Of course, she'd still need a brand new body and a way of getting the soul back into it. Still some problems with my theory.

4. I think Xander and Anya will get married. I prefer to deny the notion that ALL BTVS relationships are doomed. You could be right, though."

In more Buffy news, Noxon tried to calm the out-of-control rumour that Shannen Doherty, who recently quit The WB's "Charmed", is going to become a series regular on "Buffy". Noxon said that Shannen and Sarah are friends and they have talked about Shannen appearing on the show, but that "she's definitely not a series regular".
