'Making The Band' hopes to improve ratings

"Making The Band" returns this Friday, and executives at ABC are hoping the show's ratings will improve this time around.

The show aired for only two episodes this past season and earned only 4.7 million viewers -- down from 7 million in the first season -- before ABC pulled it from the line-up, Entertainment Weekly reports.

"Viewership is not that great," executive producer Ken Mok told EW, "but it's still a demographic bull's-eye. It has a strong core of teens."

Future episodes will feature footage of O-Town recording their self-titled album, touring, and facing problems with Lou Pearlman, the man behind the Backstreet Boys, *Nsync, and O-Town themselves.

If ratings for the show continue to disappoint and ABC cancels the show, MTV plans to air new episodes of "Making The Band".
