Being a TV star means giving up the prom.

Kate Bosworth, who stars on the WB's new summer show "Young Americans", didn't have a chance to put on the dress of her dreams and dance all night because she was too busy working on the show, TV Guide reports.

"I missed my prom because I was working," she said. "[But] I got to dress up for an episode and someone made it so that it was like my prom. So it's cool. They really do work with me like that."

Kate went on to say that on top of all her work on "Young Americans", she also does five hours a day of schoolwork. But Kate does get a chance to have fun every now and then with her co-stars.
