'Buffy' cartoon hits a bump
Fans anxiously awaiting the arrival of an animated version of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" may have to wait longer than they expected.
A cartoon version based on the UPN series has run into some problems with Fox Family TV, which was planning to air it.
"The animated series is still in the works," "Buffy" executive producer Marti Noxon told scifiwire.com. "I think that ... there's been some problems with Fox Family TV. So I'm not sure it's going to go on ... not because of anything having to do with the show, but because I think Fox is not sure that they want to do more family programming like that."
Noxon went on to say that the animated "Buffy" won't disappear without a trace. Scripts have been penned already and "stuff has already been done". She said the main problem is finding a place to air the series.
Joss Whedon, the original "Buffy" mastermind, and other "Buffy" scribes have written approximately six scripts for the cartoon, which she calls "funny" and "charming".
Although the live-action "Buffy" characters are finished with high school and are now working, getting married, and attending university, the animated series would find Buffy and her pals back at Sunnydale High School. anymore.
